New Ipswich Parks and Rec will have a warrant article on the ballot on March 13, 2018. Vote from 7am to 7pm at Mascenic High School.

Please support ARTICLE 9!!

We are asking the Town of New Ipswich to allow us to spend $10,000 out of our Capital Reserve Fund to repair the tennis courts on Playground Rd. The tennis courts will be repaired and you will be able to play tennis again! We are also having lines painted for 2 pickle ball courts.

This will NOT raise taxes. We already have the money, we just need the voters approval. Please say "yes" to the tennis courts!!

The Article looks like this:

ARTICLE 9. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) for the purpose of reapairing the tennis courts and creating two pickleball courts, and to authorize the withdrawal of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) from the Parks and Recreation Capital Reserve Fund established for this purpose. Recommended by th BOS 3-0. Not recommended by the Budget Committee 0-3.

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis, with several modifications. Pickleball was invented in the mid 1960s as a children's backyard pastime but has become one of America's most popular growing sports among all ages.
